Thanks for the post. Great to see that organisations like that exist and that people can go and see and learn about horological history.

John mentioned that we are working at enhancing our wristwatch collection and exhibits, which is very true. It is also true that the Museum's parent organization is interested in capturing the interest of wristwatch collectors as well. We're kind if in a chicken-and-egg situation ...can the NAWCC attract wristwatch collectors with publications, etc. before we have enough members in the NAWCC who are wristwatch collectors and enthusiasts and demand them? This is our challenge as an organization.

I hope that those interested in the history, design, and collecting of wristwatches will seriously consider joining the NAWCC, and through that, supporting the Museum and School highlighted in the article.

Thanks again John and Dennis! Come back anytime for another visit.

Thanks for the kind words Noel! I hope to raise awareness in the watch enthusiast community for NAWCC in and all of its rich resources, like the museum and school.

Glad to hear so many positive comments about John's article and the Museum. Those of you who are on Facebook can become a Fan of the Museum...the Museum's Facebook page posts a daily item from the Museum's collection, news about programs and events and just general information on what's going on at the Museum...here's the link:

yes BOTH those pieces are amazing, I spent ten minutes at that clock to-day deciding exactly how it worked.
and EVERYTHING by Breguet is fascinating

I took a lot of interesting pictures and will post them soon, as some times my 'slant' is slightly different.

Fantastic museum, 3 hrs and I still need another 2 hrs to look round.

I have some lovely watches to both show you and possible donate to your lovely Museum, to compliment what you already have.

Well just a quick update (pictures to follow)

What an amazing place, not just the watches and the clocks but all the staff were both knowledgable and friendly.
Also the School of Horology with 'real' students was wonderful. Jim Michaels, Director and Instrutor also an amazing guy.

Its a real pity so few 'Americans' either realize or appreciate their HUGE contribution in horology, both in the past (watch manufacturers) and in the present (the school and museum)

also worth mentioning the vast/extensive 'lending' library. Yes a 'lending' library of the most OUTstanding books in Horology.
its worth joining NAWCC just for that.

anyway, great 2 days, and look forward to be part of the Exhibit in 2010 'Grand Complications art of the watchmaker'

Regards and THANKS to Noel and his team
