Thanks for the tour, guys. I wish I had known you were going. I live about 70-80 minutes from there and would have joined you. I could definitely see it again!

I think that my two favorites things there (there is so much to see) were the gorgeous Farcot pendulum clock displayed at the 1876 Philadelphia Exposition. Yes, it's still running and keeps near perfect time!

And...the magnificent 1814 Breguet quarter-repeater in gold made for Caroline Bonaparte Murat - Napoleon's sister. I have always liked the styling of Breguet timepieces - and his horological contributions are probably second to none - and to see one made by Breguet himself was a treat.

It's a great little museum, in an unlikely place: a small town that's seen better days. But's it's surely worth a visit.

    Nice!

It was interesting that the clock drove the rotating pendulum instead of the other way around. Both those pieces were pretty cool. Actually, the whole place was great.

I'd like to thank John and Dennis for paying the National Watch & Clock Museum a visit and for the wonderful content of their article. I'd also like to thank those who have replied to the post.

John mentioned that we are working at enhancing our wristwatch collection and exhibits, which is very true. It is also true that the Museum's parent organization is interested in capturing the interest of wristwatch collectors as well. We're kind if in a chicken-and-egg situation ...can the NAWCC attract wristwatch collectors with publications, etc. before we have enough members in the NAWCC who are wristwatch collectors and enthusiasts and demand them? This is our challenge as an organization.

I hope that those interested in the history, design, and collecting of wristwatches will seriously consider joining the NAWCC, and through that, supporting the Museum and School highlighted in the article.

Thanks again John and Dennis! Come back anytime for another visit.
