Dear folks.
I had the opportunity to visit Baselworld 09 and was very honored to have the good people in Azimuth to show me their huge Tourbillon prototype design that will come out by 2011!
As of now the movement is still under development and testing stage, so the movement is oversized for feasibility study. Actual production will have to be strung down considerably, naturally.
No official data was released for this movement. I had a word with Chris, owner and designer of Azimuth, and he passionately shared with me the inspiration behind the manufacture movement
(which resembles the engine block of the supercars), and the reinforcement of the brand direction of Azimuth in pushing new boundaries in the world of avant-garde timepieces.
Below are the preliminary data released:
1. 1 min 360 degrees plan rotation Tourbillon.
2. Tourbillon chassis separated from the main movement
3. Manual wind
Hopefully we will have more information from them soon!
Keep up the good work Azimuth!, and keep that nutty juices flowing!
