    Default What is your job

Hello every one new guy here. I have been looking at this forum for a few weeks now and have enjoyed looking at all the watches that I see posted in the threads. I am curious to know how many other watch lovers are "blue collar" guys like my self(factory laborer). SO I would like to see your favorite watch you own and what you do for a living. I just bought my first automatic and first watch in 5 years. I already have the next one picked out, a Ball moon phase, it will take me some time to save up for it. So here is my new watch a christopher ward C5 Malvern aviator.

Well, my screen name kind of says it. I'm a Prosthetist and fit artificial limbs. The best job I could ever imagine.
    Cheers,
    Christopher

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Nice new watch you have there too; I have always had a fondness for all things Aviator, especially Aviator, Tactical and Military style watches.

Next you've asked to see our favorite watch, so here's my favorite.
The Ball Engineer Master II Moon Phase, this wrist shot taken today...

    Recent case back shot too...

3H tube shot taken just 1-1/2 hour before the Full Wolf Moon was at its' apex this month...

If you look at my Profile it just says "Mechanical Engineer, Machinist, Firearm Instructor, Aerospace Tech, Lab Tech,…" but those were past jobs and not all of them.

I had also apprenticed under a Master Watch Maker/Jeweler/Precious Stone Cutter, back when I was in my mid-teens and learned a great deal from a great man.
That's were I'd first gotten my overwhelming desire to learn all I can about watches, found a true appreciation for them, something that has stuck with me ever since.
If I post all my skills here it would just come across as my being a total braggart, so I'll leave it here and just let you get to know me as you continue coming back for visits.

Unfortunately I can no longer work, due to some serious health issues and physical limitations I won't go into here.
That doesn't stop me from wanting to help others to learn, as I've also worked as an instructor and teacher, so it's in my nature to teach.
It's my way of giving back to others, the precious skills and gifts that God has graciously blessed me with.
It may not pay much [usually not a dime for the most part] but I believe my reward still comes in other ways or will come at another time and place.

So basically that's what I do, while I remain living, just not for a living as you had asked.
I just try to help others to help themselves, or as the saying goes "Teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime".

There are some great people here, many with a vast amount of knowledge and skills in areas that I'm still lacking in.
I've learned a lot form others here.
I'm sure they too would be more than willing to help you with any questions you may have and I'll do my best to do the same.
I am by no means a "watch collector", more of an enthusiast and one that also likes to repair and refurbish them myself.
There are many others here, as you may have already seen, with vast and very beautiful collections of all types of watches.

So kick your shoes off, stay awhile and be sure to check out all the forums here and not just one.
You've definitely come to the right place!

I'm the shipping and recieving manager at Cedar Creek Motorsports. We sell atv's, sportbikes, watercraft, jetboats ,and most important, snowmobiles.

I love my job, I work in the parts department, it's one of the best jobs. I used to be a Honda Service Technican at David Hobbs Honda. Worked there for 4 years, then was just sick of it.

I'm a avid snowmobiler, guitar player, and car junkie. I race shifter karts, and enjoy F1 racing as well.

    Long post? Where?

Man, I have the market cornered so far, in this thread and in many others it seems.
No need to be sorry, since if anyone has need to apologize for that it should have been me!

Wolfdog I believe it was one of your post that I first saw that Ball moon phase and set me on my way to saving money in an envelope to get one. Sounds like you have been involved in many different things in your time.
A legmaker sounds like a very rewarding job. I used to work with guy that did the same thing, he used to talk about it often. I believe we went back into that sort of work.
The people here do seen great and I love seeing different watches posted every day. I never knew that so many were out there.

Hi diver, my mother and sister in law are RN's at children's hospital in columbus. God bless nurses cause that is one thing I don't think I could ever do. You have 3 very nice watches, I too like many omega's.

    Default favorite?

My favorite watch? Well I am partial to my Rolex Air King since it belonged to my late father, and also the Tissot Le Locle my wife bought me as a wedding gift. They're nice watches sure, but the meaning behind them makes me really enjoy them.

I have some fancy title I'm sure, but I prefer computer geek (and telephone geek). I am a computer geek in a factory though so it's not completely boring. I'm also a sound engineer...I mix bands/load trucks/roadie/deal with bands as a second job.

I may be the only one, but I feel guilty NOT doing physical labor. My dad and his dad were both factory workers. This makes computer geek a tough job for me mentally.
