    Thank goodness Owen Wilson didn't commit suicide. I have come to enjoy his acting in just about everything he does. Anyone see "Behind Enemy Lines"?? Wow!

    Call me a cynic; but, I think this story is a plant, and a shameless attempt on advertising. My understanding is that people are "brought out of" suicide by the items in life that are without materialistic value. Family, friends, day to to day interactions with other humans, animals, etc.; but, never have I ever heard or seen of someone pushing aside suicide for a materialistic item.

    That sounds absolutely ridiculous. A sad life it would be if a Rolex could bring you out of such a tight spot. All I see is that he is wearing a watch like most people do, and he happens to be wearing a Rolex which which seems to be fitting of his lifestyle. If he chooses Joe Boxer underwear will they say those brought him out of his rut too? Sounds like shameless advertising rubbish to me.

    As a journalist, my take is: this is an absolute crock.
    It is very similar to this bogus attempt at logical deduction I was taught in university (as what no to do):

    God is love
    Love is blind
    Stevie Wonder is blind
    Therefore Stevie Wonder is God
    Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look;
    He thinks too much: such men are dangerous.

    that's classic!

    that article was completely bogus. one of the worst things i believe i've ever read. the correlation between Rolex and Owen Wilson's recovery makes no sense at all!

    Amazing...... should be a law that makes them put "Advertising" at the top and bottom of the 'story'??
    Wonder if the actor even knows anything about this article?

    Reading this part of the article would make me think long and hard about actually buying anything from melrose jewelers:
    "Melrose Jewelers is not an authorized agent or affiliated with Rolex USA, Rolex S.A., or Rolex International... All Rolex watches offered by Melrose Jewelers are Preowned; no new Rolex watches are available from Melrose Jewelers. Melrose Jewelers warranties its watches solely through its store. Rolex USA has no obligation to service watches sold by Melrose Jewelers."

    What a shameless piece of steaming you know what......

    Some of the comments at the bottom of the Guardian article were priceless.
