Default Watch found at yardsale, can anyone help identifying?

I found this watch at a yardsale for a dollar and I couldn't pass it up ($1). Can anyone help me identify this watch model and what it may be possibly worth to a collector? I'm not sure if I should keep it for the vintage feel if I should use anything it's worth towards my student loans (no matter how little the total).2012-07-29_23-54-23_480.jpg2012-07-29_22-03-37_462.jpg

    That's a score!!
What you have is a Bulova Accutron Movt. H214 with a Kreisler band.
I can't remember the name for the lugs but they're very desirable.

Assuming the movement is there and not broken should be able to get it going with a fresh battery although you REALLY want to get it serviced before any of that so you know it's cleaned, oiled, etc..

Awesome whatch... take good care of it and will hum for years on your wrist like 40+ years ago..

Looking closely with magnification at the back of that case, it shows "14k" meaning the case and possibly the
the back cover are 14 k gold ( some would say "14k solid gold" but only 24k is solid 100% gold!). The band is not Kreisler, it is clearly marked "Speidel" and that is not the original band for a gold case. It would have come with a leather strap...

Yes, you have a good find and should make a few bucks towards the student loan problems lots of people
    have now days...

Solid 14k gold 214 for a dollar. I saw the lugs before I enlarged the picture and knew. That is a score

What a find ! RalphDjr told you most of what you need to know. Don't use a metal bracelet with that watch.
As to value, I've been buying some gold Accutrons to make sure they don't go to the smelter and I would value it between $500 and $600.
I hope you know how lucky you are. I bought a 214 Accutron at an estate sale for $1 but that was about what the beat up piece of junk was worth.
If you decide to keep it and use it, they are wonderful and dependable and unique timepieces, you'll be the only person in the room with one.

Default Nice score on your Yardsale purchase

As many of the members can attest, a watch in seemingly terrible condition can be restored and become a treasured possession. It is amazing how a little TLC and a few bucks can make one of these Accutrons shine...

You guys are awesome! So glad I came here first! Good to hear my 4 quarters did not go wasted I may just keep it! Although I'm a Citizen guy myself, I think this could grow on me. Is there any way find out the year it was manufactured?

On the back there is a letter/number sequence like N3 or the like... N=1960 and a 3 would indicate 1963... The sequence is there but I'm unable to read it,,,

    EDIT: M=60, N=70 , sorry.
