Beautifully shaped case Oliver. BTW, it was me not JP who looked up the info about the movement and you probably know this but the info comes from Ranfft pink pages on movements, just about every movement ever made is on there. I think either the 2836 or 2836-2 would be good in this watch, as who knows which it had originally?

Yeah, I screwed up that response. Sorry! Thanks for the info. I have been to Ranfft checking on the info there. Came to the same conclusion about movement types suitable for the case. I really don't think the case is a knock-off as I have seen a few just like it so far except for dial variations. The movement I have coming is actually from a Rado watch but that doesn't really matter as ETA made them, not Bulova. Thought I had located the proper Bulova signed rotor but that didn't pan out so I'm still on the lookout for that item. The lowest price I found for a new ETA 2836-2 generic was in TX for $165 shipped but I lucked out when I found this serviced ETA 2836-2 for $47 shipped. The case will arrive today and the mvt. should be here in a couple days.

Great stuff! Glad you got a suitable movement for it Oliver. bHave you seen the one from HK on the bay right now? Exactly like yours, up to $100 now and rising! Don't worry about no response Bud, just mentioned in passing!

Yes, same case and date (N9) but wrong mvt. It has the ETA 25J 2836-2 mvt., which was not produced at that time.

    Thumbs,
No, it hasn't shown up yet. I'll let you know as soon as it arrives. Anxious to see how it looks. The mvt. came yesterday. Was supposed to serviced and ready to go. It isn't! Rotor is not turning freely and it only runs for a few seconds to a few minutes before stopping. Contacted the seller and arranged a deal.

Thumbs, here is the pic I promised a while ago. Things got busy and I didnt get around to taking it. As you can see, the band looks great but is probably about 2 mm narrow. Not really a problem. Thanks! Don't know when I will get the parts assembled.
