Hi all~
New to this forum, I am the greatgrandson of John C. Miller, the last Superintendent of the DH watch co. Greatgrandpa went to Moscow with the Missus and the others from Canton to help setup First Moscow Watch factory. I have been actively collecting and repairing Hampdens, both wristers and pockets for the last few years. (you might say it's in my blood!). Anyway, I'd be glad to share any information that I have aquired in my searches or contacts that would generate interest in this great, (but small), American watch company. Hampden's may be scorned by some, (sure they're not Hamiltons or Walthams), but Hampden only had total of approximately 4 million movements in production. Many of the watches I have aquired only need some cleaning or staffs, and they fire right up and keep excellent time. I'm glad to see Mr. Wein has added the latter Hampden history, many thanks Joe!
Regards,
Dave
