    Default "The" Benrus Pocket Watch!

Well, this thread has been a long time coming. I say that because I recieved this beautiful Benrus pocket watch from a very good friend here at this forum, whose name will remain anonymous, (hint - he is a moderator here at the American! - hint). This friend knows that I am a Benrus devotee and had been thinking of starting a collection of PW's, so being the great guy and horilogical lover that he is, gave me this Bennie PW. What a guy, right?

Well, I promised him that I would do a thread on this PW for a long time and I dragged my feet, not intentionally, but because my picture taking ability stinks and I was busy for awhile there. (Bad excuses, I know...)

Well, enough blather, here she is! -

Now the reason I called it "the" Benrus PW, is because this is the only Benrus PW I've ever seen. They did not seem to get into the PW market in a big way like some other manufacturers did. But they did do a wonderful job on this watch. Very nice looking dial with a nice sub-dial for the seconds and very simple but graceful hands look very nice on this watch. i actually carry this pocket watch with me when I go formal. It becomes quite a conversation piece when I pull it out. I also brought it to work and now two of the guys want to get one or two. (yeah right, once you go vintage, you cannot stop at one or two!)

The part I love best though, is to hear this baby tick! It has such a wonderful sound to it and to be honest with you, these days with the lack of clocks out there, it is becoming a rare sound! I didn't realise how much I missed this sound of my childhood and what a nice sound it was and I feel bad for our kids, most of whom will never hear that wonderful mechanical, precise and perfect sound. I will have to take pics of the very nicely finished movement. (don't ask...)

Thank you so much Gr#$. Dohhhhh, I almost gave you away bud!

    Default WOW Jim...

Where ever did you get that!?!?

That is the only one I have ever seen and I knew you would love it...
Benrus is by far one of my favorite brands for their
    cool designs and reasonable prices.

To see a PW is a real treat... who knew they made them?

    Thanks for posting it bud...

    Glad you are enjoying it!

I was wondering where I could find info on this watch. I believe I have the same model (AW 3). Any help would be greatly appreciated: Thanks, Jim

Well, if you have a Benrus PW, it is likely this model, as it is the only one I have ever seen. All the info I have on it is in my first post.
