para ti movado.jpgHi, Folks -
Here's an ad for Movado from a 1940s (1942, I believe) issue of the fashion magazine Para Ti out of Argentina. These mags are treasure troves of incredible artwork and adverts from the WWII era. Enjoy!
The Girard Perregaux is from the May, 1958 Natl. Geographic. The rest are from the Oct. 1947 issue. Love the creative name Elgin came up with for their proprietary metal for making mainsprings; "Elgiloy". Really rolls off the tongue. If I ever have a son, I know what his name will be...

Hi, I love all the old American watches, and collect Bulovas. It recently came to light a link to old newspapers around the world, and there are literally millions of old adverts going back 100 years or more, many containing old watch ads. I have seen many Elgin, Wittnauer, Benrus, Waltham etc.etc. ads from 1920's up to 1980's, and as I was only searching for Bulovas, Think what you could find for your favourite watch brand!
Here is the link-Wikipedia:List of online newspaper archives - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, so go for it all the US states there, all the little local dailies, hundreds of thousands of ads in millions of papers, easy to search, go look and have some fun!
If you like old adverts (which I do) and you like Bulova. Here is a pretty rare one from 1957 when Bulova launced in Italian market:
Here is another old one of mine I like:
Enjoy
